MATCHING GRANT RECOMMENDATION FROM
SEATTLE ROTARY CLUB, CHAPTER 5030

MEDRIX was recognized by the Seattle Chapter 5030 of Rotary International as a recommended non-profit matching grant channel for its membership.  The following was a report issued by the Seattle Chapter on its website:

In February of 2002, I traveled to Vietnam for a Rotary Discovery Grant.

During my two weeks in the country, I traveled from Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) in the south, to Da Nang, Hue, Dong Ha, and finally, Hanoi. Each day I visited non governmental organizations that are working on humanitarian projects. The purpose of my site visits was to learn more about what these organizations were doing, and the result of their projects.

The information I gathered will be of help to any Rotary Club in the world, to help them decide what organization they want to work with, and what project(s) they want to fund.

An index follows listing the NGOs I visited. Clicking on the NGO name will take you to a page that has detailed information about that organization, the projects they have completed, and the projects they would like help funding. Your Rotary club can use this information to help you decide a project that fits your budget and your interest.

The detailed information includes phone numbers, web sites and email addresses so that you can contact the organization directly. I am also available to answer questions and welcome your inquiries. You can reach me at sally@mackles.net.

A copy of my final report to Rotary International can be found at the bottom of the index and will provide your club with additional information. Finally, a listing of Rotary Clubs and their projects in Vietnam is provided so that you can contact these clubs for possible matching grants.

Having seen the need for humanitarian assistance wherever I was in Vietnam, and witnessing the excellent work the organizations I have listed are doing, it is my hope that Rotary clubs throughout the world will use my research to fund many of the critical projects discussed in this report.
