Many health problems in the world are due to the lack of safe
water for human consumption. One of the keys to good health is
having access to safe water. In Vietnam, the same water is often
used for bathing, washing clothes, and drinking. Lack of safe
water can lead to serious health problems that are common in
children. We would like to show you the work of MEDRIX in three
villages. The refurbishment of clinics directly improves the lives
of children in these villages by providing safe water and clean
health stations.

QUANG THO HEALTH STATION |
Early stages of the work. There is a lot of work that we did there
including repairing the roof, repainting the walls, and replacing the
shutters. Our primary focus is on the safe water project. |
The safe water project includes provision of a well to supply safe
clean water. The well is dug by hand in the hard dry soil. |
Sludge if lifted out with a pulley and a bucket. |
As the well is dig deeper, the well casing sinks. |
The team finishing the top of the well. |
It is important to seal the top of the well to keep out contaminates |
The well is finished with the addition of a filter and a tank with
piping going inside. |
THUY AN HEALTH STATION |
At this health station, the needs were primarily structural. |
One of the biggest needs was to replace the roof. |
Refurbishing the interior. |
Here we see the new roof. |
The painting completed the project. |
Open house with the local community. |
HUANG HO HEALTH STATION |
Sarah is this project’s volunteer manager. |
A slightly different well construction technique was used. Here the
workers pour in concrete castings. |
Similar to the first well, this one was dug by hand. The difference is
that the rings were lowered by rope and pulley. |
The all-important lid covers the well for sanitation. |
The project is completed, but the most important result is the safe
water that this well will produce. |
